SPA

·         Assistant Spa Director
Catalina, AZ –  Primary responsibility is to assist the Director in setting the leadership standard in providing direction and supervision to spa staff in the Spa's daily operations including but not limited to fitness, yoga, mindfulness and meditation, spa desk and locker room, pool operations, and the full Treatment Menu of Services and Programs.  The Assistant Spa Director is the lead Manager on Duty for the Spa and with the Director serves as a role model of personal and professional values across Miraval.  The Assistant Spa Director oversees the coordination of all guest needs, oversees the process of staff scheduling to accommodate guest needs, and provides the attention to details in the Spa Standards.  This person will support and represent the Spa Director in her or his absence in internal/external meetings and activities.

  • Assists in the development and refinement of policies, procedures, service protocols and job design for each department and position in the Spa.
  • Effectively addresses all guest and employee issues and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Supervises, counsels, evaluates, and monitors attendance of all Spa personnel.
  • Assists in developing and implementing budgets, monitors revenues and operating costs.
  • Recommends and implements methods for increasing revenue and controlling costs.
  • Continuously monitors cleanliness of environment, ambience, and condition of physical space.
  • Collaborates as needed on projects and strategies related to Miraval's growth and brand expansion.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and projects as assigned by the Director.

 

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization, in both a team and independent environment.

-         Product knowledge - Hospitality, Resort, and High-End Residential, with knowledge of the health and wellness industries.

-         Ability to make reasoned business decisions, taking into account several financial and strategic variables.

Previous Spa Director/Management experience essential with 5 years of direct spa operational responsibility and supervision in a full service, large volume, resort setting required.  Hospitality Education and other resort experience a plus.

·         Massage Therapist – On-Call
Catalina, AZ
 - The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of various massage modalities, possess a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to participate in Miraval specific massage training. Experience in Thai and/or Hot Stone is preferred. Must possess excellent communication/guest relations skills in order to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests. ·         Aqua Zen Therapist – On-Call
Catalina, AZ
 – The Aqua Zen Therapist must hold a current massage license in the state of Arizona and have at least one year of Watsu I and II experience. The ideal candidate will perform this gentle form of body therapy in warm water, while combining elements of massage, joint mobilization, shiatsu, muscle stretching and dance.  This therapy will be performed in an outdoor heated pool and will have guest contact. ·         Acupuncturist – On-Call
Catalina, AZ
 – Miraval is currently hiring for an on-call licensed acupuncturist to become an integral part of our world-class resort & spa. Using acupuncture techniques that originated from medical traditions of Korea, Japan, China and other Asian counties, the job of an acupuncturist involves stimulating anatomical points on the body by penetrating skin with needles that are manipulated manually by hand.  Selects needles of various lengths, according to location of insertion. Inserts needles at locations of body known to be efficacious to certain disorders, utilizing knowledge of acupuncture points and their functions. Leaves needles in patient for specific length of time, according to symptom or disorder treated, and removes needles. Minimum Experience:  1 year experience in the practice of acupuncture.  APPLY

 

HOUSEKEEPING

 

·        Housekeeping Floater– Full-Time
Catalina, AZ – The Housekeeping Floater is a Full-Time position which will report directly to the Executive Housekeeper. This role will be responsible for flexing between cleaning guest rooms, laundry, floor care, linen delivery and pick-up and stocking supplies as needed. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work both as a member of the HK team and independently as required. This position requires walking up to 95% of the day, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling and lifting 50 pounds. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to understand and read directions. Prior upscale housekeeping experience is required.  APPLY

 

 

VILLAS

 

·        Villas Houseperson– Full-Time
Catalina, AZ – Miraval Resort is currently hiring for a full-time Houseperson. Duties will include assisting in the daily operation of housekeeping including but not limited to: Fulfilling guest and staff requests, stocking supplies and supply closets, transporting linen to and from laundry, pick-up and deposit trash and recycling items in proper disposal bins, and maintaining the cleanliness of Housekeeping golf carts. Regular duties also include replacing light bulbs in guest rooms; flipping guest room mattresses, assist in cleaning public areas and rooms, high dusting and assisting Room Attendants with stripping and cleaning rooms as needed. This position requires heavy lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, and carrying items. Floor care experience a plus. Will be walking or standing at least 95% of the time. Must be able to communicate clearly in English to read, write and understand directions. Must be hardworking, dependable, committed to being at work on time every day and want to work as part of a great team. Previous Housekeeping or relevant team experience is preferred. ·        Villas Concierge– Part-Time
Catalina, AZ – The Villas Concierge is responsible for maintaining and creating a positive guest experience from check-in to check-out. This position is in front of our guests 100% of the time and will be assisting with guest questions both in person and on the phone. Must be able to work independently and use good judgment. The Villas Concierge will be assisting luxury resort guests with diverse requests and will be the point of contact throughout their stay. GUEST SERVICES

·         Guest Relations Agent – Full-Time
Catalina, AZ – The Guest Relations Agent is responsible for maintaining and creating a positive guest experience from check-in to check-out. This position is in front of our guests 100% of the time and will be assisting with guest questions both in person and on the phone. Must be able to work independently and use good judgment. Candidates must understand the basic principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts, able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple duties simultaneously. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of luxury resort guest service experience and possess exceptional customer service and computer skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings and weekends. This is a full-time position. ·         Driver – Full-Time and Part-Time positions available
Catalina, AZ – The Driver is a part-time position which will provide transportation and bell services for resort guests following all laws that are issued by local, state and federal governments for the safety of human lives using shuttle busses and passenger vans. Ideal candidates will possess a true desire to satisfy the needs of others and understand the importance of customer service in a fast paced environment. CDL with passenger endorsement preferred and clean driving record required. 3 years commercial driving experience preferred. Must be able to lift moderate amounts of weight; up to 70 pounds. Must be able to be on your feet and walking, bending, lifting and twisting up to 90% of the day. FOOD & BEVERAGE

·         Server PM – Full-Time
Catalina, AZ – The Server is responsible for offering guests an enjoyable, expertly served meal reflecting the high customer service standards of Miraval Arizona. Should have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards and guest relations; knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items; basic English language communication skills; and the ability to carry large, heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout the shift; must demonstrate the a guest oriented and friendly demeanor. Additional requirements include; Minimum one (1) year experience working as a Food Server, preferably in a fine dining environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to work with management staff and other employees in a professional manner. Must be 19 years of age or over.  APPLY

 

·         Server Assistant PM – Part-Time
Catalina, AZ – The part-time evening Server Assistant is responsible for providing friendly, courteous and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests. Set and re-set tables as needed, polish and wrap silverware, assist Servers with guest service and perform other food service related duties as needed. This position is standing and walking 95% of the time, lifting up to 25 pounds, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling. ·         Bartender – Full-Time
Catalina, AZ – Miraval is currently hiring for a full-time Bartender. Must be able to prepare and service beverages for servers and guests in a quick, efficient and friendly and professional manner. Ensure that guests are served in accordance to State and local guidelines regarding the service of alcohol. Other responsibilities include maintaining a clean bar area, processing payments, and taking inventory of the bar. Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment. Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, in order to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serve snacks or food items to customers seated in the bar area. Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks. Prepare standard mixed drinks and pour wine and beer quickly, accurately, and without waste.  APPLY

 

  • Group Services Attendant – Part-Time
    Catalina, AZ – The Group Services Attendant position is responsible for setting all banquet equipment, breaks, food and special needs for all Conferences, Banquets, Programs and Internal Meetings in all locations as described on the BEO. This position requires a high degree of customer service skill as they deal directly with the guest each day.  They will work closely with the Food and Beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.  Minimum of one years experience in a banquet environment.  Excellent customer service skills, superior interpersonal skills, results-oriented and highly self-motivated.  Able to multi-task and work under pressure. Knowledge of meeting space capacities pertaining to health and safety procedures and terminology of meeting room set ups. Food and Beverage knowledge an asset. Good understanding of all hotel departments, particularly front office, food & beverage, and programs. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SMS and Micros. Knowledge of Delphi is an asset. Good written and verbal communication skills is a must.

 

Help develop, maintain and train the Meeting Services Training Guide and Procedure book, ensure an accurate and timely set up of all meetings and breaks and F&B related events that involve banquet equipment and set ups, maintain a current BEO book, attend BEO meetings as requested, follow standards for all set ups. Report shortages of meeting supplies to include pads, pens, paper goods, etc.

Maximize utilization of meeting space and Miraval owned equipment, Report    broken and stained back jacks to the Programs Department, report stained and torn pillows to the Programs Department. Alert Group Services Manager when necessary to order additional equipment to service clients.  Ensure the meeting areas are maintained, report maintenance issues and follow-up until completed; these include but are not limited to: light bulbs, air conditioning, broken blinds, damaged walls and doors, etc. Report housekeeping issues and follow-up until completed; these include but are not limited to: carpets, windows, doors, ceilings, bathrooms, etc. Working knowledge of all Miraval owned AV equipment

Set and assist clients with the operation of all Miraval owned AV and rented AV equipment. Report broken and missing items to supervisor immediately

Keep equipment and all storage areas clean – including closets, storage cupboards, and back stage area. Process Banquet Checks at the direction of the Group Services Manager.  This position will be walking and standing 95% of the time, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying up to 50 pounds.

ASSISTANT OPERATIONS MANAGER/ MIRAVAL ADVISOR (FT)

This position supports the Operations Manager in directing and coordinating operations of the Spa at Miraval Living NY.  They will be responsible for ensuring optimum service and efficiency and for maximizing revenue.  They will provide guidance to staff in maintaining brand and company standards and will implement creative and innovative ideas to enhance the Spa experience for residents and employees.

 

This position will also play the role of Miraval Advisor, whereby they will support and promote the Miraval experience by designing comprehensive and personalized lifestyle programs for Miraval Living residents which encompasses setting goals and making necessary choices for living better.

 

As Miraval Advisor, they will serve as a resource to residents by working with them one-on-one to develop individualized programs that address various lifestyle dynamics.  These dynamics will include but are not limited to: Nutrition, fitness, matters of physical and emotional health, stress management, relationships, personal enrichment, communion with nature, creative pursuits, spirituality and other elements of general well-being.   

 

As Miraval Advisor they will provide guidance, encouragement and on-going support to residents in identifying and reaching lifestyle goals.  They will make specific recommendations regarding Miraval’s Spa services, activities, programs, special offerings and private consultations, as well possibly connecting them to outside resources that support each resident’s personal intention in which they help residents improve the quality of their lives through recommending specific programs and services. 

 

This position requires the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a luxury spa or hospitality setting
  • BA degree and/or two years experience providing health/wellness services
  • Life experience with diverse client populations Experience in conducting individual/group counseling, recreational activities, and educational workshops
  • Excellent guest service skills, both in person and on the phone Ability to write effective business communications, summaries and reports using both prescribed and creative formats.

YOGA/FITNESS INSTRUCTOR (PT)

The function of the Yoga/Fitness Instructor is to assist the Lead Instructor in the creation and implementation of new programs specific to Miraval Living. They will instruct, monitor and provide personal attention to residents as they engage in various physical fitness activities. These activities may include group classes or individual sessions for aerobics, cardio training, weight training, yoga, meditation, Pilates and swimming.  

 

This position requires the following:

·         5 Years of personal yoga practice with minimal 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification, 500 hours preferable, and a minimum 2 years of prior teaching experience with various populations

·         Current certification for fitness instruction and a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience

·         Ability to express physical instructions in clear and compassionate language

·         Ability to speak about yoga and meditation in practical, accessible, and inclusive terms

SPA RECEPTIONIST (FT/PT)

The Spa Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents of Miraval Living who visit the Spa.  The Spa Receptionist’s primary responsibility is to provide the highest levels of customer service in all interactions.  They will check residents in for appointments, schedule or rearrange appointments, ensure proper resident billing, and will serve as an information resource by answering questions and handling internal and external inquiries regarding the Spa. 

 

This position requires the following:

·         Minimum of High School diploma and one year of administrative and/or customer service experience, preferably in a luxury environment

·         Exceptional computer skills with keen ability to navigate various software programs and applications

·         Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

·         Understanding of basic principles of auditing, balancing and closing accounts

·         Exceptional guest service skills with strong ability for creative problem resolution

ESTHETICIAN (FT/PT)

The Esthetician administers quality and professional facials, waxing services and makeup applications for Miraval Living residents. They possess thorough knowledge and understanding of the skin from a physical/medical perspective, and possess exceptional technique in facial massage and skin extraction.  Using proper procedures for sanitation and cleanliness they will perform all aspects of esthetic treatments specific to Miraval’s menu.
